SUMMER GLOW : ST. TROPEZ CLASSIC BRONZING MOUSSE

st tropez self tan classic bronzing mousse review

You probably know how much I love bronzed skin, I'm obsessed with sunless tanners, powders, gels, creams and pretty much with all the stuff that bring me a natural looking, sun-kissed look. Over the years I have tried lots of products and if I'm being honest there aren't actually many self tanners on the market I haven't tested out. I reviewed some of my favourites here but lately I've been loving the St. Tropez Self Classic Tan Bronzing Mousse and it has been on my mind for a while to write a post about it..

St. Tropez as a brand hardly needs any introduction but just in case you don't know, this is one of the leading tanning brands in the world, renowned for their high quality sunless tanning products. I've tried their bronzing mousse a few years ago and got absolutely hooked! It is by far one of the best I've used and absolutely my all time favourite, a product I can always rely on when I want a streak-free, natural looking tan.

The colour it produces is not very intense, it's a light, golden shade of bronze that looks very natural. I have fair skin so I find the tan to be pretty subtle with one coat only. I normally need two applications to get a brown tan but that's because I'm super pale. When my skin has a bit of sun tan, one layer is usually enough to get me a beautiful, amber bronze.

The lasting power is not that great though and that's probably the only downside to this product; the colour fades after three, four days so you have to reapply it at least twice a week to maintain the tan. But other than that, it is a great tanner and I like that it does not come off in patches.

If you are after a self tanner that smells beautiful and won't make you look orange, St. Tropez  Classic Bronzing Mousse really is one to try. It's a product I highly recommend even to those who don't have any experience in applying a self tanner as it is super simple to use.

The texture is just gorgeous, it's a lightweight, airy mousse that spreads evenly and glides very easily on the skin. You need to blend it well to prevent streaking but since it has a guide colour you can see exactly where you apply the product so it's basically impossible to miss any areas. It is also non sticky and dries completely in less than 5 minutes. Plus it smells incredibly good! It has a floral-fruity scent I just love, it's a mix of bergamot and apple with a hint of rose and a touch of musk..It is by far the most pleasant smelling self tanner I have ever tried!

The price is a bit high, it ranges between € 25 for the 120ml bottle and € 40 for the 240ml and you can shop them here. This is definitely one of the most expensive self tanners on the market but you can also buy the 50 ml bottle which is more convenient and you can shop it here. I love they have this travel size product, it's so small and practical and I can always take it with me in my cabin luggage whenever I travel.

HOW TO USE :

  • Prior to applying the tan, exfoliate then apply a nourishing cream on the areas of your body prone to dryness ( ankles, knees, elbows )
  • Make sure to use the St Tropez application mitt. It buffs the product into the skin really evenly and makes the application so much easier. It also blurs any lines pretty well so you can get a flawless, streak-free finish
  • Pump the product onto the mitt and apply in circular motions starting with you legs. Allow to develop over 4 hours before showering off.
