MY FAVOURITE BRONZING POWDERS

bobbi brown bronzers review

There is nothing I love more than a softly bronzed skin all year round! But as much as I like getting a sun tan, when it comes to my face I prefer to always wear a high SPF and use a self tanner and a bronzing powder to get that lovely sun kissed look. I do enjoy the beach, it’s super relaxing but I would much rather keep my skin healthy and sit in the shade under an umbrella than laying in the sun for hours and expose myself to the strong sun rays.

If you have fair skin like mine, you probably know that finding a good bronzer is not always easy particularly when you want a shade with no orange tint or shimmer. Shimmer is nice for holidays but at work and in formal settings, a bit of subtle tan with a matte finish is all you need.

I personally prefer bronzers that look natural on the face and I must admit it took me quite a while until I found one to really suit my skin tone. I have tested many different brands over the years and after many trials and errors I’ve found my perfect match at Bobbi Brown. I love this brand, I am always impressed with the quality of their products and I’ve recently discovered also their skincare range which is absolutely amazing. You can read about some of my favourites here and here.

If you are looking for a good bronzer and haven’t found one yet, I completely recommend Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powders. They are absolutely gorgeous, by far the best and most natural looking bronzers I’ve ever tried! I think that what makes them so different from any other bronzers on the market is definitely the combination of pigments, so perfectly balanced to mimic the real sun tan and give you a colour that looks incredibly natural.

In case you haven’t tried them and you are wondering what all the fuss is about, read below my top 5 reasons why I am literally in love with these bronzers.

  • They won’t make you look orange or fake tanned
  • The texture is ultra light and silky and they never look dusty or powdery on the skin even when you apply more layers
  • They are highly pigmented which means you only need a few brush strokes to get a tanned look
  • The finish is matte so you can also wear them in the office. Some shades do have a few tiny, light reflective particles but they don’t shine on the face, they only add luminosity to your look
  • They blend in easily and do not leave streaks on the face

My favourites? Natural, Tawny and Deep are the shades I use the most.

Natural is a neutral toned, light brown shade of bronze that I feel would suit the majority of lighter skin tones. It is completely matte, with absolutely no shimmer and it works also as a subtle contour.

Tawny is a rosy brown with just a bit of red in it, such a lovely shade of bronzer that I haven’t found with any other beauty brand. It gives my face a colour similar to that sun tan with a slight touch of burn and it looks so natural. You can either wear it on those areas where the sun would normally hit the skin or simply as a blush to add a flush of colour to the cheeks.

When I need a bit of extra tan, especially in the summer when the sun light is really strong and makes my skin look brighter, I use the shade Deep as it’s more intense and pigmented. This is a reddish brown that it’s best suited to those with dark complexion but I wear it on my neck and chest and just a bit on my face and even though it’s quite dark, it still looks natural on the skin.

What are your favourite bronzers?
