DIOR FOREVER SKIN GLOW FOUNDATION – REVIEW

I wasn't really looking for a new foundation to be honest as I do have a few I am very happy with but when Dior launches a new product I just have to test it out. I am a huge fan of this brand when it comes to make up in general and lately I started to like a lot also some products from their skincare range. I was really impressed by the whole Capture Youth line launched last year - the serums are all truly amazing and the Age Delay Advanced Cream ( review here ) is without exaggeration the best cream I have tried in a long time.

Dior Forever Skin Glow is the latest release from Dior and as much as I did not need another foundation, I bought it soon after I tried it. I liked so much the finish it gave me after the first application, it made my skin glow in such a beautiful and natural way that I just had to have it!

Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation is basically an improved version of their original Dior Forever and comes in two finishes : glow and matte. I obviously chose the glow version as it suits better my dry skin and I generally like a more luminous and dewy look.

What I love more about this foundation is that it is glowy without looking greasy and it does not emphasise skin texture or wrinkles.  Actually the finish is semi matte but radiant at the same time because it contains tiny light reflective particles that give the face a very luminous appearance while still looking natural. It doesn't look overly shiny as most luminous foundations often do so if you are looking for a product that gives you a subtle glow this is it.

The texture is very thin and watery but despite being so fluid it has a pretty good medium coverage that can be easily be built up to full without looking cakey. It looks exactly like skin even after two or three layers and feels very lightweight. But I wouldn't say this foundation is necessarily long wearing or transfer resistant. However, it doesn't separate or leave patches as it fades, it just melts into the skin beautifully.

In terms of application this is pretty easy to work with. It applies evenly both with a beauty blender and a brush or with the fingers and blends really easily without leaving streaks.

Just bear in mind that this formula does have fragrance and alcohol in it so if your skin is particularly sensitive to these, you may want to test it out on your face before you buy it. I have slightly sensitive, dry skin but it didn't cause me any irritation. However, if you decide to purchase it on line sight unseen do keep in mind that this foundation does oxidise a bit on the skin which means that after application it becomes darker than the initial colour so better choose a lighter shade than you would normally use. For reference I bought the shade 2CR which would be the equivalent of Mac NW25. When I first swatched it on my hand in the store it appeared pretty light, somewhere between NW15 and NW20 but within a few minutes it got much darker. So take this into consideration when choosing your shade.

Overall I like this foundation in terms of texture, finish and colour match but I've only tried it on my skin. Fortunately I don't have any spots to cover so I couldn't tell how good it corrects small imperfections or hyper pigmentation. But I do have freckles and after I apply two layers they are barely visible. I really love it, this is perfect for me and for what I look for in a foundation so I highly recommend it.

If you want to shop it on line you can buy it at Sephora or Attica , in Greece. For the rest of Europe you can find it on Feelunique, they offer free worldwide delivery.
