St Tropez has recently extended their self tanning line with a new product, the Purity Vitamins Bronzing Water Face Serum designed to give you a natural looking tan in just a few hours while taking care of your skin. It has an improved formula that contains natural ingredients, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and E to leave the skin moisturised and slightly bronzed without the harmful UV rays.
If you are not familiar with the St Tropez purity line, you should try it, is really good. It's a range of clear, transparent self tanners very easy to apply and do not stain because they don't have a colour guide. Plus they all smell absolutely gorgeous!
I first tried the Purity Bronzing Water Face Mist ( blog post on that here ) that I've been constantly using for the past two years and loved it! But you know me, I am all for trying out new products and couldn't wait to test their new tanning face serum. And it's a good one, I like it but not necessarily more than the mist because it doesn't feel as lightweight on the skin. The mist is so fine, you can barely feel it even when you apply more layers. I am not saying this serum is heavy, by no means but you do feel like a thin film sitting on your face after application. However, it absorbs pretty fast, it's not sticky or greasy so you can also wear it under makeup.
The colour it produces is really nice, with one layer you will get a light golden glow that looks very natural. By comparison, the Bronzing Water face Mist produces a deeper tan. The serum doesn't really give me the level of tan that I like with one application only. But if you prefer a natural bronze or just a hint of colour this is the perfect product to try out. You can apply it directly or mixed with a moisturiser and customise how tanned you want your face.
The smell is absolutely delightful, it has nice citrusy tropical scent with hints of mango and peach, just lovely!
Overall I like this self tanner, it's a great option for a subtle glow and definitely recommend it especially for people who want to look slightly tanned. But if you are after a more bronzy look you should rather try the Purity Bronzing Water Face Mist and apply it with a cotton pad, not sprayed. I always get the most perfect colour using it this way as it spreads the product evenly all over the face without leaving patches. It's literally one of the best face tanners I've used, cannot recommend it enough!
