BRONZY MAKEUP LOOK WITH DIOR BACKSTAGE AMBER NEUTRALS EYE PALETTE

bronzy makeup look dior amber neutrals eye palette review

Hi everyone, I hope you are all fine and safe and hope you are adapting well to the current situation. Weird times we are living in.. Sorry I haven't really been posting anything lately, I just didn't feel like talking about beauty these days but I'll admit I missed that quite a lot. I guess I was perhaps spending too much time reading the news but I slowly realised that worrying and stressing myself doesn't help. And just because I am not going out right now as often as I used to, doesn't mean I need to go completely makeup free or stop doing things that are making me feel good and look my best.

So I am back with a new makeup look just perfect for summer, a look that I created using some products I already have. There have been many makeup launches lately but as tempting as it may be to buy them, in this period I decided to shop more consciously and rather use all the products I own instead of always reaching for what's new. Browsing through my collection I rediscovered this Dior Backstage Amber Neutrals Eye Palette which to be honest I barely used since I bought it. Not because I didn't like it but just because I have too many eyeshadows and I forgot about it. And I've been really enjoying playing with all these gorgeous colours to created this bronzed makeup look which I think would suit almost any skin tone.

Dior Backstage Amber Neutrals Eye Palette includes one eye primer ( first square on the left in the top row ) and 8 eyeshadows : 3 shimmers , 4 mattes and one satin finish.

Bronze Highlighter

Ombre Sculpting Powder - a silky matte brown with amber undertones

Shimmer Orange - a sheer, soft peachy shade

Shimmer Red Copper

Shimmer Red Sienna

Matte Red

Matte Brick - an intense burgundy

Matte Smoky Brown - a deep brown with mauve undertones

This is a pretty versatile eye palette with a beautiful selection of shades you can play with in so many ways. You can create a natural daytime makeup by using the lighter shades or if you like a bold makeup you have the intense red and burgundy which you can apply only lightly over the brown shade from the top row just to add a pop of colour. Basically you can mix and layer them as you please since all the eyeshadows are designed to blend beautifully with one another. They all have similar, matching undertones so you can easily combine them to create lots of new shades.

PRODUCTS USED

FACEĀ

For the makeup in the pictures I used Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation in 2CR and 3CR ( review here ) and these bronzing powders from Bobbi Brown in the shades Natural and Deep. As a blush I used a rosy-peachy shade from Charlotte Tilbury Glowing Pretty Skin Palette which is unfortunately discontinued. From the same palette I used the contouring shade which is absolutely amazing but you may as well use just with a darker bronzing powder to define the cheek bones. To set the makeup I applied a fine layer of Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder.

EYES

I first applied a fine coat of foundation then the eye primer in the palette which is really good. Normally I don't use eye primers as they all tend to enhance wrinkles and fine lines but I really liked this one.

I then used a medium taupe eyeshadow from this palette by Tom Ford to create a neutral base all over the lid. Then I applied the brown shade from the Amber Palette in the crease to create a more defined eye shape. I then basically played with almost all the shades rather randomly, blending and mixing them all until I got an overall pleasing shade. At first I was afraid I would end up looking like a clown if I use so many colours but eventually it turned out pretty nice. That's why I was previously saying you can mix and match them so easily and get a beautiful result. I assume you wouldn't tell I have 8 shades around my eyes but I do šŸ™‚

Concealer : Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in the shade Honey

Lashes : Diorshow maximiser 3D primer and Hourglass Extreme Lash Mascara

Eyebrows : Anastasia Beverly Hills brow pencils ( I featured them in this post )

LIPSĀ

As I put so many colours on my face I wanted to keep my lips bare and I applied just a bit of Mac Creme de Nude Lipstick to tone down the natural colour of my lips and make the eyes pop. To give my lips a more juicy and hydrated feel I also added a touch of Dior Addict Lip Maximiser gloss in Light Pink.

BODY

To get a tanned skin I used this self tanner from Vita Liberata and a fine coat of Bondi Sands GLO Matte One Day Tan which is a bronzing foundation to use all over the body but I will write more about it in a different post.

I am sending you lots of love and good vibes and really hope this difficult period will soon be over. Stay healthy, stay strong and take care of yourselves!
