When it comes to self tanning my top choices are almost always from Vita Liberata or St. Tropez Tan but once in a while I do like to try new formulas from other brands as well because I love testing out what's new on the market.
B Perfect Cosmetics is a brand I did not know about up until recently when I purchased this 10 Second Tan Ultra Dark Mousse and to be honest I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. I only bought it because my favourite self tanner was out of stock and thought to give this a try.
This is a relatively new product, not very talked about in the beauty world. I've barely found any reviews of it on line so I had to mention it here on my blog because this is a very good self tanner and I felt more people should know about it.
First up, I absolutely love the colour it produces! It really gives you a deep tan that lasts way longer than other any other self tanners I have tried so far. For about a week or even more. The bronze you get after one application is quite intense, it's a dark brown with no orange or yellow undertones and I like that it fades beautifully without leaving patches.
I also like the smell. It has a soft, tropical mango scent that is very pleasant and is not overpowering. Most of the self tanners that contain fragrance smell too strong to cover that typical DHA smell which is quite annoying. B Perfect 10 Second Tan Self Tanning Mousse is lightly scented on application but it does smell pretty strongly of DHA once the tan starts to develop. And this is probably the only drawback of this product but it is somehow to be expected from an ultra dark formula because the higher the concentration of DHA the stronger the smell will be. However, once you shower it off the smell goes away although it will still slightly linger on your skin for about 24 hours.
Texture & Application
This is a liquid formula that turns into a foam on application and feels very lightweight on the skin. It also has a colour guide in it to see exactly where you are placing the product to avoid streaks.
The mousse comes in a medium brown which gives you a slight instant colour but nothing too crazy, the tan looks pretty subtle at first and gradually develops into a very deep bronze.
Applying this product is really easy if you use a tanning mitt as it really helps to spread the product evenly. The B Perfect Luxury Velour Tanning Mitt is ok, it does the job well but it's a bit too thin, I honestly prefer more their Double Sided Velvet Tanning Mitt ( the one without the logo ) that you can shop here. However, if I were to recommend one I think it would rather be the Bondi Sands Application Mitt which has been recently released. This is an improved version of their previous one and it is the best I have tried so far. It is more sturdy and doesn't loose shape after washing, the fabric it is made of is silky and feels ultra soft on the skin and blends the product so easily. It's perfect.
The list of ingredients in the composition is not very long, which means there are not so many chemicals inside compared to other self tanners. It also contains Aloe Vera, Green Tea, Vitamin E and Vitamin A to help the skin stay moisturised while the tan develops. However, after you wash the product off, you'll still have to use a hydrating cream every day to maintain a beautiful tan and help it last longer.
Overall, I really like this self tanner and I highly recommend trying it out if you like a very deep tan with one application only. Just don't forget to apply a thick layer of moisturiser on your hands beforehand otherwise they will look too dark and fake and this is not what you want. I mentioned also in my previous posts that for my hands I always use a separate self tanner like this one from Clarins which gives me the most natural looking colour.
If you like a lighter or medium tan overall, there are more products in the B Perfect Cosmetics line to suit every skin type. I haven't tested them all but I do hope they are as good as this one.
