Bobbi Brown has always been one of my favourite brands when it comes to makeup and it’s actually not long ago that I’ve discovered their skincare range. To my surprise it is much better than I would’ve expected from a make up brand and I must say I love every single one of their products I’ve tried!
Earlier this year they launched the new Bobbi Brown Remedies collection, a selection of six treatments designed to deal with a wide range of skin concerns and offer targeted solutions for any skin issue. Charged with active ingredients, vitamins and antioxidants, these serums aim to provide the skin with a whole host of benefits like intense hydration, repair for dry skin and protection from environmental damage.
Obviously I was dying to try them all but since my main skin concern is dehydration, especially now during these cold months, I picked only two : Skin Moisture Solution No.86 and a sample of Skin Fortifier No.93 to add some extra moisture to my skin and help it protect itself from winter harsh weather.
Skin Moisture Solution No. 86 is a treatment designed to give skin an extra layer of intense moisture so it’s definitely aimed at dehydrated skin. It contains hyaluronic acid which is known for its anti ageing properties and the ability to retain more water into the outer layers of the skin.
It’s only one week since I’m using it and I already see the difference in my skin texture. My skin feels smooth, plumped and glowy and fine lines are less noticeable. Usually I give each product time to work and use it for at least two weeks or even a month before I have an opinion but this serum just worked wonders right after the first application! It’s so refreshing, light and calming..
It works best to be applied in conjunction with a cream as for me this isn’t quite enough as a moisturizer on its own – I find it a bit too light to be used alone. The texture is watery, very thin, sinks in fast and I love it feels weightless on my skin. The finish is matte which means it can be used before makeup and it’s also suitable for combination or oily skin type.
If you want to offer your skin a moisture boost, this serum is seriously good. Definitely worth a try!
No. 93 Skin Fortifier is designed to strengthen skin that has lost vitality and elasticity so it targets rather mature skin. It contains plant extracts and natural oils that help replenish skin with lipids and moisture and improve skin’s ability to protect itself.
This one has a thicker consistency than no 86 but it’s not heavy, it still has a lightweight feel on the skin and gets absorbed quickly. Due to its richer texture I think it can be used alone without a cream, if your skin is not extremely dry. It leaves skin incredibly soft and silky giving it a lovely glow. It’s great, I love it and I’ll definitely go for the full size bottle!
