Firstly, I am sorry for the lack of posts on here for the past few weeks but now that the summer holiday is over, I am finally back with a quick review of this gorgeous foundation I've discovered not long ago. If you haven't yet tried Dolce & Gabbana makeup products, I definitely recommend you do. The lipsticks are absolutely amazing, they have such a comfortable velvety texture and superb colours, I also liked the concealers and the bronzers but I'll be writing a separate post soon about all of my favourites from the brand. The product I liked the most from their beauty line, though, is The Perfect Luminous Liquid Foundation. I love it especially for summer as it feels so light and airy on the skin! Just perfect for those hot days when you don't feel like wearing heavy makeup.
The consistency is very thin and fluid and you'll be surprised but one layer actually gives a pretty good coverage for a foundation with such a fine texture. And I like that it looks very natural on the skin, it does not enhance wrinkles or pores and I can also apply it on the area around my eyes as it's quite hydrating. The finish is not dewy but not matte either, it's rather semi satin and gives a softly luminous look to your face. The new Dior Forever Skin Glow foundation ( reviewed here ) by comparison is more dewy and a bit thicker in texture so I prefer if for colder months. For hot weather Dolce & Gabbana Luminous Liquid Foundation is definitely my favourite.
Dolce & Gabbana Perfect Luminous Liquid Foundation is a fragrance free formula that comes in 14 colours with a range of different undertones. For reference I have the shade 130 - Warm Rose, a lovely rosy-beige that suits my skin very well. It is close to MAC NW 20 just slightly darker and more peachy. When I have self tanner on I use the shade 144 - Bronze. This is a bit dark for my skin tone but I use it mainly as a liquid bronzer as it has such a beautiful red based brownish colour.
If you have normal to dry skin and you like foundations with a natural finish I think you will love it. But one thing I would say is if your skin is on the oilier side this foundation probably isn't for you. I recommended it to a friend who has oily skin and she didn't like it because it make her skin look too shiny. On my skin however it never gets greasy. It definitely needs touch ups during the day, it's not very long wearing but I like that it fades beautifully and melts nicely into the skin without leaving patches. I personally love it!
