I've been a big fan of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics for years, I've already written about how much I love their skin care range in my previous posts so I'm not going to insist too much again on how amazing these products are. Aside from their luxurious and refined packaging, the quality of the products is also incredible. I like almost everything I've tried from this brand, from eyeshadows, bronzers or lipsticks - they are all stunning but to be honest it's their creams and skin treatments that have impressed me the most.
I've been using the Hydrating Intense Night Cream ( reviewed here ) for well over a year now and it has made a huge difference in how my skin looks. I'm onto my second repurchase of this and I know I will buy it again next time I run out. This cream mixed with the Skin Moisture Solution no 86 from their Remedies collection is the perfect combination for moisturised, radiant looking skin. As soon as I apply them on the face I can feel a lovely, soothing and hydrating sensation that I adore. They have definitely taken a permanent spot in my evening skincare routine and I thoroughly enjoy using them every night.
Another of my favourite skin treatments I've recently discovered and absolutely fallen in love with is the Bobbi Brown Extra Repair Serum. I wouldn't say I actually needed another Bobbi Brown product as those I already have are more than enough to cover all my skin needs but I just wanted something with a lighter texture for summer because the Hydrating Intense Night cream is a bit too rich and the Moisture Solution no 86 is way too light to be used alone.
The Extra Repair Serum has just the right consistency - a light, ultra thin milky lotion that sinks in incredibly fast and hydrates my skin without making my skin look oily. It containes a concentrated blend of active ingredients like Oilve Oil and Meadowfoam Seed Oil to intensively moisturise and soothe dry skin.
What I love most about this serum is that despite it being formulated for very dry skin the texture itself isn't at all heavy or greasy, on the contrary it has an extremely fine consistency that leaves a very soft veil of moisture on the skin. And although it feels lightweight, I find it nourishing enough to be worn without any additional cream on top.
I also think this serum works exceptionally well as a makeup base especially when I am using transfer resistant foundations which tend to dry out the skin. It adds such a radiant glow to my face, a kind of subtle luminosity and dewyness that somehow counterbalance the mattifying effect of long wearing foundations. It's really a pleasure to apply and it keeps my skin hydrated and plumped all day.
If you are looking for a lightweight and hydrating product that can be used both at night and under your makeup I highly recommend it. The texture is ultra fine, very nourishing and it feels lovely on the skin. It's easily one of the best and most exquisite face serums I have tried, I like it even more than Helena Rubinstein Powercell Youth Grafter which has been my favourite for years.
