I shot these pictures a few weeks back at Athens Xclusive Designer Week 26th edition which has been hosted as every year at the beautiful Zappion Hall. Those of you who follow me on Instagram may have already seen the videos I posted in my stories, if not you can watch them in Highlights ( AXDW 26th ) and also on their official page @axdw_fashionweek in case you want to catch a glimpse of the Greek fashion scene.
I am truly glad I had time to attend and really enjoyed immersing myself for a few days into the world of fashion, to discover new designers and watch their creative shows. I was particularly impressed by the stunning collection of Alex Taratynova. Those ethereal, lit-from-within dresses made of organza with fine touches of fiber optics were almost out of this world! She presented a collection inspired by the bioluminescent life in the ocean and the waves found in nature. An interesting approach for sure and quite a spectacular show! Definitely a designer to keep an eye on in the future.
Another talented fashion designer , Christangelos presented a splendid artistic show that blew me away. Rather than a catwalk strip of model after model this was more of an interpretative dance presentation with a soundtrack that built a magical atmosphere around the collection. Just beautiful! You can see part of his artistic work on his Instagram page @_christangelos.
I also enjoyed the super dynamic show of Afroditi Hera and her African inspired dresses in beautiful prints and fluid textures. Such a delight! I left the show truly lifted up and inspired for a summer filled with gorgeous, floaty maxi dresses.
WHAT I WORE
My style in general is pretty much effortless, modern with a hint of edge sometimes. For this particular look I wore a pair of fitted black trousers, a lace camisole top and a plain blazer layered over a tulle maxi dress that adds just the perfect touch of sophistication to this outfit. I love light, sheer layers in jet black and the overall vibe of this look. I think it's a nice mix between masculine and feminine, simple yet bold and cool.
Since I wanted to let the dress be the focus, I kept the accessories minimal and wore just a small cross body bag and a pair of flat pointed-toe mules to make the whole look more relaxed.

HAIR & MAKEUP
To give my hair volume and achieve these relaxed tousled waves I used a large size curling iron and these Bumble & Bumble styling products. I've tried many products from this brand over the years and while I have to say not all are excellent, there are a few that I really love and use constantly. But if there is one product I would recommend from Bumble & Bumble styling range it would definitely be their Thickening Dryspun Finish Spray. For me nothing works as good as this! If you have thin hair, you want volume and that "lived-in" texture without a heavy weighed down finish, try it. It's by far the best volumizing spray I have used so far!
For my make-up I chose a smoky eye and a nude lip that couldn't have been more "me" .. That's kind of my signature look I guess and I think it suits me best. For the face I used Clarins Everlasting Youth Fluid Foundation that I'll review soon and to bronze up the skin I applied my favourite Bobbi Brown bronzing powers in the shade Natural and Deep. I have many other bronzers in my makeup collection but I always find myself reaching for these when I want to achieve an intense tan that looks natural. They are just the best!
To contour my brows I used Anastasia Beverly Hills brow pencils ( I wrote about them here ), on the lips I applied Mac Creme de Nude lipstick which looks gorgeous in real but in the pictures the colour is very muted, barely visible. However you can see more pictures with it in this post where I rounded up my favourite nude lipsticks from Mac.
For the eyes I used Dior Amber Neutrals Backstage Eye Palette which I simply adore! Such a versatile palette, a beautiful collection of eyeshadows you can create a multitude of looks with. They are creamy and pigmented and blend very easily on the eyes. In the pictures you cannot see exactly the shades but I will recreate this makeup and make a separate blog post with this look just to show you how gorgeous they truly are.
