YSL VOLUME EFFET FAUX CILS MASCARA

Finding a mascara that adds volume, length and separation can be quite hard, especially if you have thin lashes. I've been playing with quite e few mascaras over the past few months and the Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara by YSL really got my attention. I've heard so much about this product and after reading countless amazing reviews, I really wanted to try it.

I am extremely picky with mascara as I have blonde, thin lashes and it takes a lot of effort to make them curl so I am always in search of a new product that would make them appear thicker and longer. Until now I haven't found a mascara to wow me but I actually liked this one. It is really volumizing, it wears well, it does not flake and stays on the lashes the whole day without smudging. I also like that it can be removed easily, you don't need a bi-phasic makeup remover to take it off, a micellar water will do the job just fine.

The wand is really dense and has a lot of tiny bristles that coat each and every lash. It is very good at giving your lashes that gorgeous, volumized look but it doesn't do so much in terms of separation; the formula is quite thick and if you apply more than two layers it tends to get slightly clumpy. On me this is best with one good coat for day wear and if I want a more intense makeup for the evening or a special occasion I will apply more layers to create that dramatic lash effect.

Overall I am thrilled with this product, I love it's intensely pigmented, it applies like a dream and makes my lashes look thicker and longer and gives them a lot of volume. The one thing I don't like about this mascara is that it is highly fragranced so if you have sensitive eyes I honestly wouldn't recommend it. The scent does not irritate my eyes, however if you wear contact lenses you may want to avoid using eye makeup products that contain perfume. 

YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils retails for Eur 30 so it's slightly more expensive than other high end products but I think it's gorgeous.  If you are looking for a luxury mascara that gives you that bold false lash look, give this a try. You are going to love it!
