If you are visiting Athens and you are looking for a spot with idyllic sea views to drink your coffee or maybe have a special dinner far from the noisy streets of the city, you definitely have to try a seaside escape on the Athenian Riviera! It is full of charm and natural beauty everywhere you look and you will find plenty of nice restaurants to choose from.
Moorings is one of the places I go quite often when I want some peaceful moments away from the city buzz. Set in an incredibly beautiful location only half hour drive from the city centre, this classy coffee bar restaurant is ideal if you are looking for a calm, relaxing spot without the touristy vibes. It’s just a little hard to find because of its relatively hidden position but once you get there, you’ll feel as though you’ve discovered a little piece of heaven and you’ll never want to leave.. The surroundings are spectacular and the ambiance is very welcoming, both upscale and relaxed.
If you want to wind down or just have some moments of silence, pop by for a coffee in the morning when the place is not crowded and you’ll literally experience bliss! The serene setting, the quietness, the chill music, the sound of the sea waves and the amazing landscapes around bring out an incredible sense of peace and relaxation I’ve rarely felt in a restaurant. I could spend hours watching this epic scenery…
They have a wonderful roof terrace open during summer and a ground floor shaded area open all year round which is by far my favourite. It’s a comfortable, cozy and very warm place to enjoy coffee, breakfast or lunch. There is also free wifi so if you are looking for a quiet spot to work and eat, this is just perfect!
The food is high end but the vibe is unpretentious and incredibly inviting. The menu includes mediterranean courses, fresh fish, seafood, salads, sushi, delicious deserts and a selection of fine wine labels both from Greece and abroad.
If you want to feel the real magic of this place you definitely have to see it at sunset. It is simply divine! If you are in the mood for dining in an elegant and dreamy atmosphere, trust me you just couldn’t choose a more charming place than this! At dusk the views from the rooftop terrace are breathtaking! Then imagine the soft sunset light, the sea breeze through your hair, candles, seagulls sounds in the background, lounge music and a glass of wine.. Could there really be anything better?
As the night falls, the vibe changes, the music gets louder and the place becomes more crowded. The perfect ambiance to enjoy a glamorous cocktail among the trendy locals.
