Pere Ubu is mainly famous for two things : the hip vibe and exceptionally good food! But it’s actually their parties and the cool atmosphere that makes this place the hottest hangout spot in Glyfada. If you’ve ever been to Athens Riviera you may already know about it but for those of you visiting the area for the first time and looking for a classy place to eat then this is the one you absolutely should not miss! It’s chic, relaxed, the ambiance is always nice and the staff are super friendly.
The place is a hit with the locals so it’s usually packed and yes, sometimes you’ll have to queue to get a table, especially on the weekends but it’s going strong for a reason. Great atmosphere, cool crowd, delicious food and top notch service! The dishes themselves are superb, with quality ingredients and interesting flavours, I seriously enjoyed almost everything I’ve tried here. The options in the menu can easily cover all needs as they serve anything from coffee, bakery, sandwiches, healthy salads or cooked dishes to gourmet level dining. And fabulous cocktails!
The restaurant actually has two different concepts of space with separate kitchens.
Pere Burger Bar & Rotisserie is a designer space with a bohemian air and a touch of Southern American, Brazilian and Peruvian influences. It is the place where you can enjoy tasty soul food. Expect gourmet burgers served with delicious home-made sauces, freshly baked pies and cooked dishes with influences from around the world.
Ubu Pure Food is a modern organic restaurant with a bio healthy orientation where you will find gluten and sugar free options, smoothies, fresh juices and healthy dishes slow-cooked in special stone ovens. You can choose from grilled chicken salad with quinoa, avocado and mango, Beluga lentil soup or asparagus with mushrooms, poached eggs and cranberries. All made from fresh and organic ingredients.
They also have a lovely courtyard where you can have a relaxed lunch and an outdoor terrace with seats on the sidewalk, perfect for a morning coffee, breakfast, Sunday brunch or an afternoon snack. There is also wi-fi available so you can even bring your laptop and do some work, the place is usually quite chill and cozy during the day.
Pere Ubu is also a great option for after dinner drinks with friends and socialising. The place is more like a bar on weekends, with DJs, good music, nice crowd and incredible atmosphere. And they definitely know how to get you in the mood!
